Leads the development of new automotive parts by collecting data through on-vehicle testing. Assures the quality of parts through testing and installation. Works closely with engineering team to develop and execute test plans for data acquisition and validation. Designs and builds test harnesses to interface with a vehicle and the data acquisition equipment.



Primary Duties:


* Develops test plans for on-vehicle part validation.

* Perform automotive part installation.



Key Accountabilities:


* Acquire analog data, digital data, and vehicle communications during vehicle road testing.

* Perform on-vehicle testing and verification of electronic prototypes.



Requirements:


* Minimum 5 years of experience as a dealership service technician.

* SAE Master Technician.

* Willing to travel to local dealerships and repair garages to perform vehicle testing.

* Expert level vehicle electronics diagnostics.

* Proficient with diagnostic scan tools.

* Proficiency with power tools and shop tools.

* Familiar with online wire diagrams such as All Data and Mitchell OnDemand.

* Knowledge of advanced automotive testing equipment such as oscilloscopes.



Physical Requirements:


Capability to lift 50 pounds.



Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
